The Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival (Aug 10)

The Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival is one of the biggest fireworks events in the area, and will take place on the evening of August 10th (19:40-20:40) on the banks of the Yodo River. The launch site is close to Tsukamoto and Juso. If you want to watch it, you should plan ahead to find a place to watch, since a VERY large number of people will gather in the area. See the following page for information.

This also means that Tsukamoto and Juso areas will be VERY crowded, especially after 6pm when traffic control starts. If you are staying in a hotel in Tsukamoto or Juso, and if you do not want to be trapped in the crowd, you should definitely go back to your hotel early.

Trains on the Hankyu Kobe Line, which runs between Umeda (Osaka) and Sannomiya (Kobe), will be VERY crowded that evening. Those who are staying in Umeda area will be affected. We are adjusting our schedule on the 10th (which is the last day of our academic program) so that participants can go back to their hotel before 5pm.

Minato Kobe Fireworks Festival (Aug 3)

Another large firework festival takes place before ICLC 15 on Aug 3 near the port of Kobe. For information, see the following site. Again, a very large crowd is expected.
