UEDA Akitaka (as Celestial maiden)
Noh actor of the Kanze School of shite-kata (primary actors), UEDA Akitaka, whose real name is TANIGUCHI Yûgo, was born in 1992 as the third son of UEDA Takuji (see below). From childhood, he studied Noh under his father and his oncle UEDA Takahiro. Widely active within and without, he often participates in overseas performances. He is also involved in a variety of activities which are designed to share the joy of Noh with younger generations, including visiting Noh classes at schools. He is a graduate of the School of Humanities of Kwansei Gakuin University.
FUKUÔ Tomotaka (as Fisherman)
Noh actor of the Fukuô school of waki-kata (supporting actors), FUKUÔ Tomotaka was born in 1981 as the second son of FUKUÔ Shigejûrô, the 16th Grand Master of Fukuô school. He studied Noh under his father. He is a graduate of the School of Humanities of Kwansei Gakuin University.
UEDA Takuji (as choir director)
Noh actor of the Kanze School, UEDA Takuji, whose real name is TANIGUCHI Takuji, was born in 1959 as the second son of UEDA Teruya. From childhood, he studied Noh under his father and Ôtsuki Bunzô (living national treasure). Person of Cultural Merits of Hyôgo Prefecture (2019), he is a recipient of the Bleue Mer Award of Kôbe (2006), the New Artist Award of the National Arts Festival of the Agency for Cultural Affairs (2008) and the Excellence Award of the National Arts Festival of the Agency for Cultural Affairs (2012). He is one of a number of individuals who have been collectively designated as holders of Intangible Cultural properties, and he also serves as representative of the Noh theater of Shukugawa “Gashôen” and manager of the Kobe branch office of the Nohgaku Performers’ Association. He is a graduate of the School of Humanities of Kwansei Gakuin University.
